community centre in jyllinge - aart wins idea competition

29-08-2006

Kulturhus i Jyllinge

A unanimous jury has chosen our proposal for a new community centre in the Spraglehøj area in Jyllinge to be the best one in a closed idea competition. The jury emphasized in particular the proposal’s main idea, the continuous community lane and the potential for extension offered by the dynamic roof shape.

With its strong, architectonic expression, the proposal is very open and adaptable to an extension in stages. It is a roof shape that the committee deems capable of ‘carrying’ a start-up of the community centre in minor stages, and it is a roof shape that will bear future extensions that might include both cultural, sports, and commercial functions.’

The committee considers the proposal’s strong main idea and clear structure an excellent basis for the further development process. It is a proposal that is, moreover, realizable within the framework of the proposed local development plan, and we will look forward to continuing our cooperation with the municipality of Gundsø regarding the further development.

Hannemannsparken - master plan for 85,000m2 in Ørestad South

The winner among the candidates will be assigned the task of coordinating a later incorporation of all the architects practices’ best ideas into the master plan. Subsequently, each of the four teams are to project a portion of the total 85,000m2 of residences and businesses.

The four architect teams consist of:
